How(e) does he do it? Time after time I am absolutely amazed to see him capture the emotions so perfectly. I love the use of rain in this pic. But I have to say, I've seen him do better than this. That's the downpoint to it: if your as good as Howe, people expect the very best. But in Howe's case, the very best is most of the times what they will get.

These artists(especially Howe) are great at imagining what a certain place in Middle-earth would look like, but they are even better at making it come to life.

Geez, I love Mirkwood. Your picture is sooo great, it's mirky, hehe. I have always tried to imagine Mirkwood when I would read the Hobbit and this is almost exactly how I saw it. By far Mirkwood is my favorite place in Middle Earth [and then the Shire ] This picture is excellent I love it!!! melissa--
